Consistent WDT distribution without the manual stirring.
The TIMEMORE Autospin Electric WDT Tool automates one of the most important steps in espresso puck preparation. Place it on a compatible 58 mm portafilter and its 12 ultra-fine needles automatically move through the coffee bed, breaking up clumps and helping create a more even distribution before tamping.
With automatic start and stop, bidirectional orbital movement and a rechargeable battery capable of more than 2,000 cycles per charge, Autospin turns WDT into a fast and repeatable part of your espresso routine.
12-Needle Planetary Distribution
Twelve 0.3 mm needles travel through the coffee bed in a fixed orbital pattern, providing broad coverage across the basket while breaking apart clumps created during grinding.
The automated movement helps make puck preparation more repeatable from one espresso to the next compared with manually stirring the coffee by hand.
Automatic Bidirectional Rotation
Autospin alternates its movement in both directions during the distribution cycle. This helps distribute coffee throughout the basket without continuously pushing grounds toward one side.
Automatic Start & Stop
There are no buttons to press during puck preparation. Place Autospin on the portafilter and the distribution cycle begins automatically.
Lift the tool to stop the process early or leave it in position and allow the programmed distribution cycle to finish automatically.
Designed for 58 mm Espresso Baskets
The four-point support structure is designed to centre the tool over compatible straight-walled 58 mm filter baskets while keeping it stable and level during operation.
Compatibility depends on the portafilter and basket shape. Autospin is not designed for 3-lug portafilters or curved-wall baskets and may not sit correctly on portafilters with strongly tilted locking wings.
22 mm Working Depth
The needles extend approximately 22 mm into the basket, giving them enough depth to work through the coffee bed rather than only disturbing the surface.
TIMEMORE recommends the standard needle depth particularly for doses of approximately 18 grams or more. For shallower baskets, the needles can be shortened when required for proper clearance.
More Than 2,000 Cycles per Charge
The built-in 500 mAh lithium battery provides more than 2,000 preparation cycles from a full charge, keeping the tool cordless during everyday espresso preparation.
USB-C Rechargeable
A full charge takes approximately 1.5 hours using the USB-C charging port. A charging cable is not included.
LED Status Indicator
The integrated LED makes charging status easy to see. Orange indicates charging, while white indicates that the tool is powered on or charging is complete.
Open-Top Design
The open architecture lets you see the planetary distribution mechanism operating in real time while keeping the tool compact enough for a home espresso station.
Built for Repeatable Espresso Prep
A WDT tool does not replace proper grinding, dosing or tamping, but it can help improve how evenly coffee is distributed before extraction. Autospin removes much of the variation associated with manually stirring the grounds by hand.

Compatibility
Autospin is designed for standard 58 mm portafilters using straight-walled espresso baskets.
- Compatible with suitable straight-walled 58 mm baskets
- Not compatible with 3-lug portafilters
- Not compatible with curved-wall baskets
- May fit poorly on portafilters with tilted locking wings
- Standard 22 mm needle depth is particularly suited to doses of approximately 18 g or larger
Because portafilter geometry varies between espresso-machine manufacturers, confirm the shape of your basket and portafilter before ordering.
How to Use the TIMEMORE Autospin
- Grind your espresso dose into a compatible 58 mm portafilter basket.
- Make sure the coffee remains below the rim of the basket.
- Place the Autospin evenly over the portafilter.
- The distribution cycle begins automatically when the tool makes contact.
- Allow the automatic cycle to complete, or lift the tool to stop it early.
- Remove the Autospin from the portafilter.
- Tamp the distributed coffee as normal.
- Lock the portafilter into your espresso machine and begin the extraction.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What does WDT mean?
WDT stands for Weiss Distribution Technique. It uses thin needles to break up clumps and redistribute freshly ground espresso before tamping.
2. Is the TIMEMORE Autospin completely automatic?
The distribution process is automatic. Place the tool on a compatible portafilter to begin the cycle and remove it when finished.
3. How many needles does it use?
Autospin uses 12 distribution needles.
4. How thick are the needles?
Each needle has a diameter of approximately 0.3 mm.
5. How deep do the needles reach?
The standard needles extend approximately 22 mm into the basket.
6. What basket size is it designed for?
Autospin is designed for compatible 58 mm espresso baskets.
7. Does it fit every 58 mm portafilter?
No. It is designed for straight-walled 58 mm baskets and compatible portafilter geometry. Basket shape and locking-wing design affect compatibility.
8. Does it work with 3-lug portafilters?
No. TIMEMORE specifies that Autospin is not compatible with 3-lug portafilters.
9. Does it work with curved-wall baskets?
No. TIMEMORE specifies straight-walled baskets for proper compatibility.
10. Can I use it with a basket smaller than 18 g?
Possibly, but the standard 22 mm needles may reach the bottom of shallower baskets. TIMEMORE allows the needle length to be adjusted when necessary.
11. How does the tool start?
Autospin automatically begins its distribution cycle when correctly placed onto the portafilter.
12. Can I stop the cycle early?
Yes. Simply lift the tool from the portafilter to stop the cycle.
13. How long does the battery last?
TIMEMORE rates the 500 mAh battery for more than 2,000 preparation cycles from a full charge.
14. How long does charging take?
A full charge takes approximately 1.5 hours.
15. Does it charge with USB-C?
Yes. The tool has a USB-C charging port.
16. Is a USB-C cable included?
No. A charging cable is not included.
17. What do the LED colours mean?
Orange indicates that the battery is charging. White indicates that the tool is powered on or that charging is complete.
18. Are replacement needles included?
Yes. Six replacement needles are included.
19. Can I wash it under water?
No. The Autospin is not washable. Keep the tool dry and use a brush or air blower to remove loose coffee grounds.
20. Does an automatic WDT tool guarantee better espresso?
No single puck-preparation tool guarantees a better shot. Autospin is designed to make coffee distribution more repeatable and help reduce clumps before tamping.
